The Paper Cup Machine Operator is responsible for maintaining the operation of cup and tub forming machines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves loading materials, monitoring machine performance, making minor adjustments, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the work area. Operators are also expected to assist with quality checks, preventative maintenance, and general production support.
- Operate and monitor paper cup and tub forming machines.
- Load blanks and bottom stock onto machines; use Ergo tug to transport material carts.
- Perform machine start-up and shutdown procedures.
- Clean machines and surrounding areas to maintain a sanitary work environment.
- Check fluid levels and machine components to ensure continuous operation.
- Make minor adjustments to resolve defects and communicate major issues to the Lead Operator.
- Assist with quality inspections, including print, fiber teardown, scuffing, and date coding.
- Record mineral oil usage and complete end-of-shift machine checklists.
- Empty spoilage boxes and remove damaged paper stock.
- Assist Lead Operators with machine servicing (glue, mineral oil, silicone).
- Relieve Cup Packers during breaks and assist Material Handlers and Padlocker Operators as needed.
- Maintain 5S standards in assigned areas.
- Participate in team meetings and communicate important safety, maintenance, and production updates.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks.
- Train and support other operators once qualified.
- Meet production goals and fulfill overtime requirements as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications
- 18+ years old
- Can lift 30+ lbs
- Must pass drug screen
- Basic mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools safely.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physically able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours).
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and lowering up to 30 lbs from 4 feet.
- Physically able to carry up to 30 lbs.
- Visual acuity and depth perception for machine operation.
- Working in variable temperature and humidity conditions.
- Willingness to work overtime and assist in other departments as needed.
- Ability to train and mentor other team members once qualified.
