The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, supporting compliance with labor laws, and identifying process improvements within the payroll and timekeeping systems. This position plays a critical role in maintaining payroll accuracy for a growing, multi-state organization, with a focus on ensuring adherence to regulations and internal policies.
- Manage and verify accuracy of electronic timekeeping system (TeamTime).
- Process final pay for terminated employees.
- Identify and correct payroll errors; communicate issues with relevant departments.
- Assist with onboarding new employees and input into payroll systems.
- Audit timekeeping records for compliance with state pay laws and break regulations.
- Use Microsoft Office and ERP system (WinTeam) to analyze payroll trends and performance.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of meal and rest break premiums.
- Collaborate with field managers to improve timekeeping processes.
- Maintain focus on compliance and accuracy in key regions including California, Oregon, and Washington.
- Host virtual meetings to support payroll process enhancements.
- Escalate issues appropriately and coordinate with internal investigations team when needed.
