Under general supervision, determining the quantity and order date for materials needed to meet the master production schedule. Initiating supplier schedules and/or material releases as appropriate. Troubleshooting supplier quality and service issues. Duties include: - Complying with all company safety policies and procedures as well as complying with all OSHA rules and regulations. - Adhering to good manufacturing practices (GMP) including proper waste disposal, attire, grooming, hygiene, etc. - Assuring supply of ingredients and packaging by determining the quantity and quality based on production needs - Obtaining material quotes for new/modified materials - Arranging for deliveries as needed to ensure a smooth flow of materials consistent with quality considerations - Assuring effective implementation of marketing, R&D, and operations as they relate to materials for assigned facilities and indirect materials - Identifying and implementing opportunities to reduce working capital associated with material inventories - Monitoring vendor quality and service performance - Champions corrective actions and quality improvement initiatives with quality assurance, R&D, and vendors
