This position pays up to $41.95/hr, depending on experience.
The Refrigeration Generalist is responsible for maintaining and servicing industrial ammonia refrigeration and HVAC systems in a food production facility. This role ensures safe and efficient operation of refrigeration equipment by performing scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and assisting with repairs and system upgrades. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with ammonia systems and is committed to working in cold environments and adhering to safety protocols.
- Log time and materials daily using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for work orders and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Communicate system status, maintenance needs, and issues to supervisors and team members.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in refrigeration machine rooms and maintenance areas.
- Interpret technical documents including blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Assist in developing SOPs, maintenance schedules, and repair procedures for refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Support and supervise outside contractors performing refrigeration or mechanical service work.
- Collaborate with building maintenance and material handling teams as needed.
- Assist with general building maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, and equipment repairs.

Qualifications
- 18+ years old
- Can lift 40+ lbs
- Must pass drug screen (cannabis excluded)
- Minimum 2 years of ammonia refrigeration experience in an industrial setting or a combination of relevant trade school certification and experience.
- Must be willing and able to work in temperatures of 35°F or below throughout the shift.
- Ability to work any shift and occasional overtime as required.
- Willing to obtain OSHA Level A Hazmat Certification and Incident Command Training within 90 days of hire.
- Willing to obtain RETA CIRO (Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator) certification within 1 year of hire.
- Strong understanding of industrial refrigeration systems, HVAC operations, and related maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents and perform accurate record-keeping.
$3000 new hire bonus
This bonus will be paid out in two separate installments (the first half will be paid after 6 months of employment and the other half will be paid after 1 year of employment) and is based on meeting company expectations regarding performance and conduct
