The Production Team Lead in the rendering department at Tyson Foods is responsible for leading a team of production workers to ensure the efficient and safe processing of raw materials into finished products. The Production Team Lead will work closely with production supervisors and managers to achieve production targets and maintain quality standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead a team of production workers in the rendering department, including assigning tasks, providing guidance and training, and evaluating performance.
2. Coordinate production activities to meet daily production targets, ensuring compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
3. Monitor production processes and equipment performance, identifying and addressing issues to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
4. Train new employees on production processes, equipment operation, and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
5. Conduct regular inspections of equipment, facilities, and production areas, identifying maintenance needs, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement.
6. Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and implementing corrective actions to resolve production problems and prevent recurrence.
7. Implement and enforce safety protocols, procedures, and regulations in all production activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
8. Communicate effectively with other departments, including maintenance, quality assurance, and logistics, to coordinate activities, address production-related issues, and support plant operations.
9. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing changes to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and improve product quality and yield.
10. Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production reports, downtime logs, and quality control records, using computerized systems and manual documentation as needed.
11. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor production teams, prioritize tasks, and solve problems effectively.
12. Knowledge of production processes, equipment, and quality standards in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
13. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, supervisors, and external stakeholders.
14. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed to support production schedules and operational requirements.
