The purpose of the Inside Sales position is to ensure customer needs are identified and met in a timely manner, achieve customer satisfaction, and meet sales objectives and goals. This position will also identify and close additional purchases of products and services provided by Bakersfield Pipe & Supply, Inc. Essential functions: • Generating new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner • Determining customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions • Presenting price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers’ profitability profiles • Accurately processing customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns in the company’s ERP system. • Working closely with vendors regarding products, shipment dates and expected date of delivery • Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability • Build customer and vendor relationships to earn their trust • Identifying revenue opportunities within customers’ communities through communications, programs and other activities as needed. • Prospecting, qualifying and generating sales within our established guidelines • Understanding the price metrics / material provided by purchasing • Understanding and use the selling price matrices for existing and new customers • Provide reporting to management as requested • Monitoring scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed • Contacting customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaint • Remain current on consumer preferences, changes in local codes and product developments by attending sales meetings, vendor training and trade shows, or reading trade journals • Identifying trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction • Managing time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the distribution team • Communicate to the purchasing department unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products • Maintaining proficiency in using personal computer, data entry terminal and other common office equipment and software
Qualifications
- 18+ years old
- Can lift 25+ lbs
- Must pass drug screen
- PVF Industry experience
- Knowledge of basic inside sales procedures and practices
- Proficiency in the use of computers and software programs; including word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail applications.
