Job Summary

Starting pay is $27.22-$27.97 DOE. - Uses overhead cranes and forklifts to unload, store and stage raw material for processing. Verifies that the material is correct as ordered, follows practices and procedures as outlines in SSAB’s ISO 9001 programs. - Loads material off/onto trucks or rail cars, verifies material is correct as stated on customer’s BOL/order. - Secures material loaded on railcars. - Responsible for daily inspections of lifting and processing equipment (when needed). - Operate Coil Processing/Cut-to-Length equipment. - Operate CNC Oxy-Fuel/Plasma cutting equipment. - Operate Oxy-Fuel Track Torch equipment. - Operate CNC Machining Centers. - Follow all company safety rules and regulations. - Assist maintenance team on a volunteer basis when required.

Qualifications

  • 18+ years old
  • High school diploma
  • Can lift 50+ lbs
  • Must pass drug screen
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Previous experience operating overhead cranes preferred.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to use hands for gripping, handling materials, and operating tools.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry moderately heavy items frequently and heavier items occasionally.
  • Capable of bending, reaching, climbing, and performing physical tasks as needed.
  • Vision requirements include near, mid, and far range, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, over radio, or in group settings.
  • Experience using desktop computers, hand tools, remote-operated cranes, and oxy-fuel torches.
  • Comfortable working near moving equipment and vehicles, in noisy environments, and while wearing required PPE.
