Job Summary

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely transferring lumber and materials between various plant operations in a fast-paced, industrial environment. This role requires forklift or heavy equipment operation experience and a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork. This position works on rotating 12-hour shifts, including holidays and weekends. - Safely operate forklifts or heavy equipment to move lumber between departments. - Perform daily equipment checks and preventative maintenance tasks. - Complete basic care procedures including inspections, cleaning, and servicing of equipment. - Document maintenance activities and report issues promptly. - Work effectively with minimal supervision to meet production demands. - Follow all safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work area. - Support plant operations by transferring materials efficiently and safely.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of forklift or heavy equipment loader experience required.
  • Excellent safety and attendance record.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, and noisy environments.
  • Physical ability to bend, twist, lift, climb, and stand throughout the entire shift.
  • Must wear lace-up safety-toed boots with 6" uppers.
  • Must pass assessment tests, background check, drug screening, and physical.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to perform all job assignments in a timely and effective manner.
