Job Summary

Starting pay is $24 an hour. There is also a quarterly bonus paid based on the facility's shipping targets, performance, and safety goals. - Learn and follow the standard operating procedures and safe operating practices (JSA/SOP) - Operate testing equipment (tensile, charpy, bend, hardness) - Operate machine equipment (Haas CNC Mill, band saws) - Operate sample preparation equipment (vertical, horizontal band saws) - Prepare and analyze all steel samples using lab equipment - Accurately report testing information within a timely manner - Receive test coupons, prepare test specimens, perform required tests - Verify, document and enter data into the forms, tracking system and spreadsheets - Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment including validation checks - Troubleshooting to assist in returning faulty equipment to operational status - Regular and reliable attendance

Qualifications

  • 18+ years old
  • High school diploma
  • Can lift 35+ lbs
  • Must pass drug screen
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a science field (e.g., chemistry) preferred.
  • Experience with computers and basic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret industry specifications (ASTM, EN, API, ABS, CSA).
  • 3 yr min CNC Milling experience,
  • High mechanical & mathematics aptitude (test administered)
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout an 8-12hour shift.
  • Ability to lift and move light to moderate weight regularly and occasionally up to heavier loads.
  • Use of hands for grasping, handling, and fine manipulation.
  • Perform repetitive tasks and work at various levels (above shoulder or below waist).
  • Good vision (near, mid, far), peripheral vision, and depth perception required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, and in group settings.
  • Work indoors in a noisy environment, around moving equipment and potential hazards.
  • Must wear required PPE to ensure personal safety.
