Job Summary

Pay Range $21.95/hr - $30.75 /hr Depending Upon Experience The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles and equipment used in an industrial facility. This role plays a key part in ensuring operational efficiency by performing routine maintenance and addressing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely and safe manner. - Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on rendering plant vehicles and equipment. - Conduct routine preventative maintenance to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. - Utilize basic electrical, pneumatic, and hand tools to complete maintenance tasks. - Perform air brake repairs, electrical work, and air conditioning system maintenance as needed. - Comply with all Tyson Foods safety policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. - Maintain a clean and safe work environment while promoting the company's safety culture. - Use company procedures to complete and understand job assignments. - Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with supervisors and team members. - Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. - Participate in training and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 18+ years old
  • Can lift 50+ lbs
  • Must pass drug screen
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license required.
  • Must supply own basic maintenance tools.
  • Minimum of 1 year of industrial maintenance or related experience required.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and understand assignments and technical instructions.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs and ladders (up to 20 feet), and perform tasks in hot, cold, and odorous environments.
  • Must be able to work in varying weather conditions and confined areas.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Willingness to perform physical job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
