The Maintenance Technician Generalist at Tyson RVI-Harmony rendering plant is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the reliable operation of equipment and facilities. This position requires a broad range of technical skills, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Maintenance Technician Generalist will play a key role in maintaining production efficiency, safety, and quality standards. Responsibilities: 1. Perform preventive maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery, including lubrication, inspections, adjustments, and replacements, to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance. 2. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and mechanical issues, diagnosing problems and implementing repairs or adjustments as needed to minimize downtime. 3. Conduct electrical maintenance tasks, such as troubleshooting electrical circuits, replacing fuses, switches, and motors, and performing basic electrical repairs. 4. Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and other mechanical components, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and conveyors. 5. Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of new equipment and machinery, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards. 6. Conduct facility maintenance tasks, including plumbing repairs, carpentry work, and general building maintenance, to ensure a safe and functional work environment. 7. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe and compliant work environment. 8. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment readings, and repairs performed, recording data in logbooks and computerized systems. 9. Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to schedule maintenance activities, prioritize tasks, and address urgent maintenance needs. 10. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in maintenance techniques and technologies. 11. Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair a variety of equipment and machinery. 12. Experience with preventive maintenance practices, including knowledge of lubrication techniques, inspections, and equipment reliability principles. 13. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and supervisors. 14. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently. 15. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed to support production schedules and operational needs. 16. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures applicable to maintenance activities and industrial environments. 17. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, lift heavy objects, and perform tasks at heights and in confined spaces. - At least one year of experience in industrial maintenance or a related field. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
